The Goonies solar project, considered one of the largest in Pennsylvania, is located about three hours northeast of Philadelphia. Its name was given to it by local landowners due to a large quantity of unique stones called “goonies” scattered throughout the project.
The project, which is in advanced stages of development, has an estimated energy production capacity of 200 megawatts, enough electricity to power 23,000 homes in Pennsylvania.
