An entrepreneurial-research collaboration between Doral and Bar-Ilan University, which led to the establishment of an agrivoltaic research site in 2021. There, researchers study the effect of the shading of the solar panels on field crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, basil and onions.
Several parameters are examined, including the quantity and quality of the yield, the length of the growth cycle, the health of the plant and the protection against extreme weather conditions. The site also has a solar fence that provides a security solution for various purposes such as agricultural farms, along with green electricity generation.
